Louise Golbey

Louise Golbey’s music could be classed as Soul/Nu-Jazz; we also class it in a class of music that’s good for the ears! Her latest single (”Up To Me”) has got another edge to it, bring in that “Hip Hop groove with a soulful melody and vocals” (Recorded at The Lab Studios in Clapham).
The single was co-written with Yolanda Charles, who in her own rights is a formidable song writer and bass player, who has worked with Artists such as Marchella Detroiot, Paul Weller, Carleen Anderson and BB King, just to name a few! The track (Up To Me) has such a soulful sound, making you want to nod your head while driving your car, with the windows down or just hit the floor (Kitchen, living room or dance floor) displaying your best moves.

The single has had a great response, played on various radio stations (Mi-Soul, 6 Music and Choice FM), and on Jazz FM’s  play list not forgetting the music video for the single, which has been aired on a number of music channels and various gyms nationwide, which highlights Louise’s versatility when it comes to producing and writing songs.

Although Louise is a solo artist, she collaborates with a full band, but if you want to get close-up and personal with her, you should take the opportunity to hear her music stripped down and intermit at one of her live acoustic gigs, giving you the opportunity to say I saw her close up before she blows up and goes global!

We must solute Louise for her independent approach towards music and the business side of it all! Louise feels that “things have naturally progressed over the years achieving several milestones”, this is testament to the brilliant and well-crafted EP’s she has produced over the years, such as Keep My Feelings Hush, Acoustic Sessions and How it is, which are all available on iTunes ( Visit iTunes).  After a very successful and enjoyable performance at the Isle of Wight Festival, Louise is now back in the studio recording her new album and is in talks with a record label who have expressed an interest in signing her, but with or without a label behind her Louse will continue to spread her music far and wide and we look forward to hearing the new album, sometime in the Summer/Autumn this year.
